Transceiver Specifications
10GBASE-LR media utilizes 1330nm transceivers with -5dBm transmit power and a -15dBm minimum receive sensitivity. 10GBASE-LR uses separate receive and transmit fibres.
10GBASE-BX media utilizes 1330nm TX, 1270nm RX bi-directional single fibre transceivers with -4dBm transmit power and -14dBm receive sensitivity (up to 20km range). Many network vendors refer to these as Downstream transceivers. Participants will need an Upstream transceiver with 1270nm TX, 1330nm RX. A single fibre cross-connect, which contains two fibres, can be split to connect to two ports using 10GBASE-BX. Technically, this media type should be called 10GBASE-BR as it uses 64b/66b just like 10GBASE-LR, but most vendors refer to it as 10GBASE-BX.
10GBASE-ER media utilizes 1550nm transceivers with 0dBm transmit power and -16dBm receive sensitivity (up to 40km range).
10GBASE-DWDM media utilizes 100 Ghz grid (Ch 21 to Ch 60) DWDM transceivers with 0dBm transmit power and -23dBm receive sensitivity (up to 80km range). Please specify your requested channel during the order process.
